Electronic version of licence/permit will be launched on 6 May 2024

Starting from 6 May 2024, the Radiation Board will issue electronic licences and permits to the licensees upon approval of the license applications, provided that the applicants have provided email addresses with the license applications. The electronic licence/permit will be sent to the provided e-mail addresses without waiting for mail delivery. Paper licenses/permits will continue to be issued in the meantime.

According to the requirements of the Radiation Ordinance, you shall exhibit your licence in a conspicuous place on the premises where irradiating apparatus is situated, or where radioactive substances is stored or otherwise dealt with. Please note that you should exhibit either the ORIGINAL electronic licence or the ORIGINAL paper-form licence. You could choose to display the original electronic version but shall NOT exhibit the print-out of the electronic licence.

All applicants are encouraged to submit their applications online through our Electronic Radiation Licensing and Services System (ERLS). Online applications can be reviewed and processed more efficiently.
